Actor Patrick Dempsey has had a lucky escape after was involved in a nasty car crash over the weekend (14-15May11).
The Grey's Anatomy star is a keen race car driver and co-owns the Dempsey Racing team, which competes in Grand American Road Racing Association (Grand-Am) competitions across the U.S.
Dempsey was practising for the Bosch Engineering 250 race on Saturday in Virginia when another car collided with his vehicle as he finished his circuit.
The star's car was severely damaged in the collision but Dempsey escaped unhurt, reports Examiner.com.
