A Stroll Down Automotive Bad Memory Lane

? December 14, 2011Posted in: Editors' Picks

It?s that time of year when all the retrospective articles and posts begin appearing. Some of them will limit themselves to chronicling the best and worst of the past year, and others will be more ambitious. Count among those a writer for Edmund?s who lists the 100 Worst Cars of All Time.

Cars bring out people?s passions, especially people who are willing to read through a long list, and the poor writer has only two stars to show for his knowledgeable and entertaining efforts, because naturally everyone who finds something they liked on the list, or finds something they hated off of it, thinks that he (or she) could do a better job of it. I?m interested to find out what you think should have been on or off the list, or should have been ranked higher or lower, but I?m not as interested in your views on the subject as I am Iowahawk?s. My apologies.

Rather than get all tangled up in the minutia, I suggest you do what I did, and treat it as a stroll through the used car lot of memory, recalling to mind the good and bad times you had in some of those cars, how you foolishly wished you?d have had the cash to buy others, and chuckle at yourself and your friends, but mostly at the nostalgia we can feel for such absolute crap.

And while you?re out there, check out Deep Fried Manatees.
