Where Can I Find Love Relationship Advice & Information

Where Can I Find Love

True love is happiness, true love is sharing your world with your dearest. How do you turn friendship into love, and is there a fine line between the two? Here is a simple guide to seeking out love in your deepest of friendships.
Steps

Be considerate, caring and thoughtful towards the person. If the person is in trouble, help them out. If the person is happy, be happy with them. If they are sad, be a shoulder to cry on.
Spend a lot of time with them. If you?re really good friends with the person, go into town to catch a coffee, invite them on walks, or just invite them to your house for a bit of a catch up. The possibilities are endless ? just make sure you know them well enough to feel comfortable having deep conversations and sharing your world with them, you don?t want them to be creeped out with your sudden eagerness and interest.
Help them out once in a while. If they?re struggling in a subject at school, go over a few topics with them. If they?re having a bit of crisis in work, let them confide in you, if they?re having problems with family and friends give good, sensible advice. The bottom line is ? be caring.
Have a laugh with them ? crack jokes when together and let your walls come down, in other words be open. Have opinion, express your views and be the real you.
Eye contact is critical. Always look them in the eye. As some say, the gateway to a person?s soul, is through their eyes.
If you two become close and find love with each other, be caring, loving and friendly. Try to not have any arguments, even though they can easily happen, don?t ever cheat and always look your best for them. Respect them, guys especially love respect.
Tips

Be yourself, people can only love the real you.
Get to know the person more over a few months ? love doesn?t happen over night.
Be caring, considerate and a good person.
Dress well, and have good personal hygiene.
Have fun with the person, share your world.
Don?t skip bases, let it flow naturally

Warnings

Obsession can easily happen. Don?t obsess over the person, i.e. always texting, ringing and Facebooking them. Give them space.
If you feel that the person does not feel the same as you might do, try and not be too down in the dumps, even though is hard you can get through it.
Try and stay friends, it?s the least you can do.

Wonder how you?re ever gonna find love well If you have a fb this is great for you.
Steps

If you don?t have a fb make one, by clicking on create account and enter your info.
Find a guy near you.
Ask him to meet you at a park, restaurant, etc.
When you meet him talk and get to know him.
If you aren?t compatible try these steps until you meet the right man.
Tips

Try to get to know his friends
Don?t call 24/7

Warnings

He might break up with you if you are too pushy

HP's Dead TouchPad Claims No. 2 Best-Selling Tablet Spot
How'd HP do it? Seemingly by just slashing the price to $99. But even at bargain basement prices, consumers want usability. For other also-ran tablets who aspire to nip at Apple's heels, there's a lesson here in finding the sweet spot between price, design, and function.

Mobile Phones and Ringtones ? Popular Together | Unlock All ...

The invention of the mobile phone is probably one of scientific history?s greatest breakthroughs. This single invention has changed the face of wireless communication and even more so now that the mobile phone has been developed into a highly sophisticated gadget that is almost as ubiquitous as air. Mobile phones of today are no longer just simple tools for long distance communication. They are now instant digital media players that can play your favorite tracks and even video clips effortlessly.

Mobile phones and ringtones enjoy a partnership that ensures each other?s popularity. To think that almost all famous mobile phone manufacturers have respective signature ringtones that they integrate in all their cell phone models for distinction. Just by hearing a particular mobile phone?s signature ringtone, you will be able to guess the brand name of the phone in question.

While ringtones distinguish one brand?s creativity from the other, they also function as a form of self-expression of a person?s personality. Aside from the built-in ringtones that come with each brand new mobile phone, you can download new tones as well, via the different connectivity options commonly integrated into mobile phones today. MP3 and polyphonic ringtones are just a few of the types of mobile ringtones available. In truth, these tones are what bring a mobile phone to life since they give off lively sounds that reflect the character and mood of the phone?s owner. And what is more, they aid you in distinguishing your cell phone from all the others when you are out and about in a crowd of people.

There are basically three major types of ringtones, which are monophonic tones, polyphonic phones, and true tones.

You can bask in the freedom of choosing your favorite kind of tone and then making it your signature ringer. Monophonic tones are composed of singular tones that can only be played one note at a time. They are so very simple and belong to the era when cell phones were still new and rough around the edges. Polyphonic tones, on the other hand, are able to play different instrumental sounds including the piano, guitar, drums, etc. The true tone is also known as the voice tone or MP3 tones. True tones can include the music and lyrics of a whole song and so music tracks can now be used as ringtones. Among the three, the MP3 is possibly the most popular since many people, especially the younger ones, make it a point to keep up with the latest music hits and trends. Everybody nowadays seems to want to be able to listen to music and so keeps their favorite songs portable by downloading them to their phones.

Mobile phones are truly remarkable and are even more so with the ringtones that go with it. Have your phone personalized by the kind of ringtone you choose. Let your mobile phone be part of your style statement using your favorite ringtones.

DuPont Automotive Coatings Business in China?s development can be divided into two lines: one is DuPont automotive paint products in China and the process of upgrading, it is the technology of DuPont automotive paint in the process within China. China DuPont Automotive Coatings Business Director Mr. Yan Fucheng presentation to introduce aspects of automotive paint products in April 1984, DuPont introduced a primary protection based on the environment for the Chinese, for FAW ? provide the general public does not lead, paint products electrophoresis, in April 2001, DuPont introduced for Chinese products protect the environment? Should be recommended to customers in China, two thin coating manufacturing technologies projectsDuPont the world is very famous in recent years the world leader in the online approach coating process has become the main route process, including two of lean manufacturing with Chinese vehicle makers to a high reference value. ?Investment material costs represent 20% of the overall picture is not that the other 80% of the cost of the overall process of the table.? YAN Presentation, ?In China, the main consideration is how much the car manufacturers reduce costs, the easiest way is to paint suppliers to lower their prices, but it?s actually a small part. ? Typically, the traditional solvent-based coating process materials with high VOC, low investment, the characteristics of low power consumption, coating materials, water-based low-VOC technology, high investment and energy-intensive features, the latest developments in the process of coating powder coatings have low VOC emissions, the high energy consumption and not the characteristics of multi-color construction. Of the total domestic production is still 90% of the coating, or using a traditional solvent-based, only 10% used water-based materials, a combination of DuPont in North America, Europe and Japan, the practical application of Lean are made in China Scheme was introduced. ?In this process, consider shortening the coating process, the optimization of equipment in the coating line, it is easier to set up production, increase the level of product quality, which may consider reducing the cost global energy conservation. ? Ordinary Migraine Food Triggers

No one knows for certain what causes migraine headaches. The most likely to reply to-date is that a critical of small irritations or reactions pile up until, finally, a migraine headache is triggered. Migraine triggers are completely different for each particular person, however many migraineurs claim that an explicit food or combination of meals will push them over the sting into a headache.

Understand that most science disagrees with migraineurs in the case of meals triggers. There are not any conclusive research indicating a hyperlink between certain meals and migraine headaches, so all data is anecdotal. The thing is there?s a lot, tons actually, of anecdotal evidence for the link.

While a migraine set off food might be, quite actually, something, some meals come up on the set off list for sufficient folks to advantage discussion.

Cheese

Cheese is a significant trigger for many migraineurs. Significantly prone to cause an assault are laborious or aged cheeses. Soft cheeses like cream cheese and new cheeses appear to be advantageous and unlikely to cause problems.

Processed Meats

Nitrates are believed by many to be a serious migraine trigger. For most people, the most typical source of nitrates is processed meat, gadgets like scorching canines, sausage, bacon, processed lunchmeats, etc.

Condiments

Salad dressings are a trigger for many. The reason is not recognized, but is probably tied to a combination of different triggers all coming together in a single place.

Spices and Components

Any spice could be a trigger. Spices as triggers may be tied, at the very least partially, to scent sensitivity, since many spices have a pungent odor. Seasonings that appear to offer migraineurs probably the most bother embrace monosodium glutamate (MSG), widespread in Asian foods, artificial sweeteners, meals dyes, and vinegar.

Migraineurs who suspect a meals trigger ought to consider attempting an elimination food regimen to pinpoint the set off meals(s).

Publication of poetry books

The street merchant adjusts the wig slipped silver on the back of the head, pulls his pants to his knees and dusty steps on the road to showcase their latest products for pedestrians:

"Booklets! Booklets!

Hot off the press today.

Salty Jokes for you

A poem is quite new,

A fairy tale for children! "

In the sixteenth and seventeenth century, IMPLIED, itinerant traders and street vendors as "Kramer" known to their craftSides of the street and on street corners throughout England and Europe. Interested buyers can find the bottom of the wooden cart full of pots and remedies tallow, twine and a folk-Chapman, the books, so called because they were sold by Chapman found.

More than a thousand of used printing presses in Europe around 1500. But although many books were printed, most went to the clergy and other educated classes. Few books were available or affordable for the average citizen. Brochuresto the printed word in the hands of ordinary people. The booklets small, often only 4 inches by 5 inches, has become increasingly popular in the next century.

Since mid-1600, times were very hard. Poor harvests caused frequent food shortages and hunger. The man faces a number of subsistence crises and epidemics. Plague was rampant, then turned, then back to more than 100,000 lives in London, held during 1665th Average life expectancy hovered at the age of 30 years.

Althoughless than half of British people could not read well enough to sign his own name, were cheaply bought books, read aloud and shared. Some of these books were only 10 pages long. The press was full of stains and the raw images. The pages contained simple medieval tales or poems, jokes, riddles, stories, and sometimes vulgar, of course, is to be read for adults.

Religion was also a discussion about books. Of a sample of 450 pounds by the time120 are religious. Many of these deals with the lives of the saints. The inventory of a printer in Paris, who died in 1698 suggests that his work was selling "Pensez-y-bien," a popular book on the art of dying well. When considering the bad times the subject seems appropriate.

In 1662, the English Act of Uniformity place strict conditions on the clergy and the public about the church. The powers of the Act gradually restricted and censored the content of the brochures. Although bookscontinue in popularity in France and Italy, advances in printing techniques led to a "legitimate" books into the hands of ordinary people.

Today, Chapman, a freak of history, but his legacy, books, play a fundamental role in the publication of poetry and can be particularly effective for the Christian poet. Brochures beautifully made ??books of poetry in the hands of readers at a reasonable price. Who disparaging the legitimacy of brochures should now have asome of the respected poet whose work appeared in chapbook form: Dorothy Livesay, Carl Sandburg and Walt Whitman, to name a few.

Brochures are distant cousins ??of today, the history books. First, the publication of the books today is reserved almost exclusively for poetry.

Brochures from high-quality parchment pages in fine print glossy covers are connected together. These books can also be illustrated with line drawings. At the other end of the scale, simple books can be folded just a dozen sheets of white tape and saddle stitched with blankets made of paper.

Arrangements for the publication of the books are similar to publishing contracts. He put a collection of poetry (20-40 poems is a good number) to a publisher who demonstrates an interest in books of poetry. (Use the market leader in search of publishers like that.) Simultaneous display are usually acceptable, if you inform publishers.

Some editorialAgreements may need to finance the costs. In these cases you should be able to take to sell all the books and sell. A publishing contract with a publisher is expected to only a few copies for themselves and designate the rest for retail. Decide what will be the destination of your chapbook. Do you want to distribute your book in bookstores and to foster enthusiasm in person? Or will you be happy just to have a few booksshow your family and friends?

Chapbook signed an agreement can be easier than landing a book contract with a commercial publisher, but it is an easy task. If your manuscript is accepted, you have good reason to be proud of. Although books are checked only rarely in the mainstream press, are a legitimate and respected way to put your poems in print.

Brochures can be done at home. Even if you make your chapbook manuscript pages of the process ofwould be slow. It is easier if you:

? A computer with a printer

? A stapler

? Good quality white paper for the inside contents

? Heavy-weight paper for the cover page

If you have access to a photocopier and a stapler are commercial grade, you can probably get high quality books directly from their homes at a cost of only a few cents per book.

Start the poems that you want included in your chapbook. Some "purists" think that all the poems ina chapbook should be connected in any way, but I disagree. His book is a compilation of most of the work. You should at least eight poems for your book, but probably not more than 40 years. It is difficult to hand fold and staple the book when it is too dense.

With a word processor computer, type your poems with the layout of the page in "landscape" so that the page sideways instead of vertically. You can choose this option in any word processing program. Would you like to type 2 poemseach side, with plenty of space in the center (gutter), where the staples are.

When you print your poems, you have the pages printed, flip half way through the press, so that there are two poems on each side of the page. This is very easy to do, but sometimes you have to fiddle a bit with the paper "before it works well.

If your poems are all printed correctly, each page of the paper have four poems, two on each side. For a small book like this, you really do nothave the page number. He lay in a pile and fold them together, "book-style". Fold the sheets easy to show, where the points should go.

If you can cover a heavy paper printed separately and place it under the stack of poetry with the artwork facing you. Line and staple the pages carefully three times along the crease in the middle. Now you can fold the book and in the long run times by rubbing hard with a smooth object.

You only need tocreated their first popular book! Congratulations on a book about the process, which lasted nearly 500 years continue.

Once you've finished the first book, you will probably find a lot of things that can simplify the process and it is possible to integrate improvements in the following books. The beauty is in this way is that books are not a few cents more than: at any time, and a book that is not what you do not want a big loss.

Metropolitan Police 'Planned To Hold All Riot Suspects In Custody'

PRESS ASSOCIATION -- Scotland Yard devised a policy of holding all people arrested in connection with the London riots in custody and recommended that courts refuse them bail after they were charged, it has been reported.

The Guardian said it had seen a leaked document entitled "Operation Withern: prisoner processing strategy" that was circulated to officers investigating the disturbances at their height two weeks ago.

According to the newspaper, the document suggested that no one arrested during or after the riots should be let off with a caution - regardless of the offence.

It also reportedly said that everyone arrested should be held in custody, with a recommendation that bail should be denied when the case first goes to court.

The document also included a suggested statement for officers to use in the prosecuting reports which are passed to the Crown Prosecution Service.

It said: "A strategic decision has been made by the MPS that in all cases an application will be made for remand in custody both at the police station, and later at court. This decision has been made in the interest of public safety and the prevention of further cases of disorder."

The newspaper said the document came into the hands of the solicitors Hodge, Jones & Allen, who have written to the Met informing them they are starting judicial review proceedings of the decision not to bail an client. The unnamed 25-year-old was arrested for possession of ?2,500 of items looted in the riots in south London.

Edward Kirton, the solicitor acting in the case, told The Guardian: "The right to bail is a long-standing and essential part of our criminal justice system. It should be carefully considered and each case should be looked at on its own merits.

"In relation to the riots, it seems that the Metropolitan police took a strategic decision to apply a blanket ban and deny everyone bail, no matter what their circumstances. I consider this policy is unlawful as a result."

Scotland Yard said guidance was issued to officers to ensure a "consistent approach" to an investigation which was "unprecedented in its volume and complexity".

Does Your Cover Letter Make These 5 Critical Mistakes?

HTML Ready Article. Click on the "Copy" button to copy into your clipboard.

By: Laura SmithProulx

You've polished your resume to no end, especially after finding a great job posting that seems tailor-made for your leadership skills. But did your cover letter merit the same attention?

Many hiring managers use your cover letter to gauge your interest in the company, as well as to measure your aptitude for the job.

Therefore, when you resort to "Dear Sir, I'm interested in your open job, here's my resume," you're missing out on a critical chance to persuade employers to take you seriously for an executive or leadership role.

Here are 5 of the most crucial mistakes made in cover letters?including those that can quickly knock you out of the running for a leadership job:

1 - Your opening line was boring.

"I am an Operations Director with 18 years of experience" or "In response to your ad for a CEO, I have enclosed my resume" really aren't compelling enough to use as opening statements.

Instead, try a hook that makes the hiring manager sit up straight in his or her chair, as in these examples:

"Would a Sales Vice President who consistently pushes teams past quota (up to 52%) make a difference in your national rankings?"

"As a CIO for global company ABC Consulting, I've increased customer satisfaction to 97% in 3 outsourcing engagements?pushing our revenue growth to its peak despite the recession. I'm interested in creating the same results for you."

The idea is to speak precisely to the employer's pain points, while describing the performance impact you've had in previous roles.

Note that each of these sentences contains metrics, a targeted job title, and a career-defining achievement that is framed in context and laid out quickly for the reader to absorb.

Your opening line should also leverage the research you've done on the company, per the next point.

2 - You didn't demonstrate the ability to solve the employer's problems.

Rattling off a list of competencies isn't strong enough to distinguish you from other candidates, but speaking directly to the company's needs will do the trick.

You have to dig into the company's history, press releases, annual reports, and other news to figure out their pain points.

What type of expansion is planned? Were earnings down in previous quarters? What do industry analysts say about the company's future and their business strategy?

Armed with this information, you're able to connect your leadership skills to the employer's needs much more succinctly:

"My ability to produce business development results (30% rise in cloud-based solution sales during Q4 2010) can address any struggles you've had in breaking into this market. Can we talk?"

3 - Your key points don't match (or exceed) the job requirements.

Like resumes, cover letters must be precise and direct the reader? keeping them attentive to the reasons they should hire you and the edge your work can give them.

While you're writing, put the job description in front of you to remind yourself what the employer is seeking. Then, look for ways to point out how you can surpass these expectations.

The following example is taken from an IT Director cover letter:

"Your ad noted that you require a leader in service delivery and customer satisfaction. My career includes 3 years of 97% satisfaction ratings, achieved by improving infrastructure and network capacity, and I hold responsive service as my #1 priority."

4 - You didn't address the letter to an actual person.

Finding a contact name inside the company has never been easier. First, you can use LinkedIn's Advanced People Search function to put in the employer name, then fill in the Keywords box to find potential contacts.

For example, a Business Development Manager might look for keywords such as "VP Sales or COO" to identify the next-level manager contact, while an IT Product Director can try to find the CIO's name.

If you don't find a name through LinkedIn, be sure to check Zoominfo.com, Spoke.com, or the company About Us page.

If you have access to Hoover's database or Dun & Bradstreet, you can also use these resources to locate company insiders. In addition, ReferenceUSA.com is a free contact name database available through many public libraries, and requires only your library card for access.

Taking the time to locate a name (vs. resorting to "Dear Hiring Manager") will help your letter create lasting impact with target employers.

5 - You forgot to be assertive.

Especially if you're pursuing an executive or senior-level role, employers like to see a take-charge style (the same one you'll use to deal with vendors or your new team). If your closing line isn't strong, you run the risk of looking too passive.

"Thank you in advance for reviewing my credentials" is certainly polite and professionally stated.

However, "I look forward to describing how I plan to exceed your requirements as Vice President of Finance" and "Offer me a personal interview, and I will share how my leadership as CIO will impact your IT organization" are both stronger.

Even more intense, "I will follow up with you next Tuesday" shows definite intent on your part to influence the hiring audience, and gives them advance notice of the proactive steps you'll take to secure the interview.

To summarize, there's no reason to settle for a bland, one-size-fits-all cover letter that blends in with the others.

Your job search will fare better when you zero in on the hiring audience with an unforgettable opening?especially when it draws a parallel between employer needs and your unique value.

Gaza militants renew rocket fire despite truce

(AP) ? Palestinian militants in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip launched rockets and mortar shells into southern Israel Monday, despite an unofficial truce meant to defuse escalating exchanges of rocket fire and Israeli airstrikes.

Around midday, a group that had held out from joining the cease-fire announced it would comply. Even so, Palestinians launched two rockets into Israel a few hours later, the military said. They caused no injuries but damaged property and set a fire to a field.

The latest round of violence began with a deadly attack on Israelis near the Egypt-Israel border on Thursday when gunmen who appear to have originated in Gaza and crossed into southern Israel through the Egyptian desert and ambushed vehicles, killing eight people. Six were civilians and two were members of Israeli security forces responding to the incursion.

That touched off deadly Israeli airstrikes and heavy Palestinian rocket fire from Gaza. Palestinians pummeled southern Israel with about 70 rockets Saturday night, killing 1 Israeli and wounding several others.

About 15 Palestinians, most of them gunmen, were killed in Israeli airstrikes.

"Most of those who dispatched the terrorists to carry out the attacks are now under the ground," Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak told Channel 2 TV Monday evening.

A Hamas official said Monday that militant groups in Gaza agreed to the truce to end three days of clashes between Israel and Gaza militants. Hamas security personnel would enforce the Egypt-brokered agreement, he said.

The Popular Resistance Committees had refrained from joining the cease-fire because an Israeli airstrike on Thursday killed several of its senior members, whom Israel accused of directing the border ambush, another Hamas official said Monday. He spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn't authorized to speak for the other group.

On Monday afternoon, the PRC told a news conference it would join the truce as well, but a few hours later released a statement taking responsibility for firing the latest rockets salvo, breaching the cease-fire.

The Israeli government says it was not involved in cease-fire talks, but Israeli President Shimon Peres, touring a city hit hard by rocket fire over the weekend said, "If they will cease fire, there will be a cease-fire."

Taher Nunu, a spokesman for the Gaza Hamas government, said all militant Palestinian factions agreed to abide by the truce.

Militant leaders in Gaza were not answering their telephones, fearing the Israelis would be able to locate and assassinate them.

Condemnation of Israel's actions came from the six-nation Gulf Cooperation Council, citing "flagrant violations" and "Israeli agression" in Egypt and the Gaza Strip. The GCC statement Monday did not mention the cross-border attack or the rocket salvos.

A senior Israeli military officer said Israel's newest rocket defense system did not provide full protection from a barrage of Palestinian rockets.

Col. Zvika Haimovitch said the Iron Dome system he oversees picked off four of five rockets in a salvo Saturday from the Gaza Strip. The one it missed killed an Israeli man, he said.

The sudden flare-up in violence also caused new friction in relations between Israel and Egypt, after Egypt accused Israel of killing five of its security personnel along the border while pursuing militants responsible for the frontier ambush on Thursday.

Under pressure from popular anti-Israel sentiment, the Egyptian government at one point threatened to recall its ambassador to Israel. Israel apologized and Egypt recanted.

Rebels battle Libyan forces for Zawiya refinery (AP)

ZAWIYA, Libya ? Rebels battled Moammar Gadhafi loyalists for control over Libya's only functioning oil refinery in the western city of Zawiya Wednesday, as the opposition tried to cut off fuel supplies to the regime's stronghold of Tripoli.

Rebel fighter Ramadan Keshada said his forces control parts of the refinery complex in the city's north on the Mediterranean coast, while some regime troops and civilian workers remain inside. He said rebels and regime forces clashed there on Tuesday, then the opposition fighters pulled out at nightfall and made a new push in the daylight.

An Associated Press photographer entered the refinery with the rebels and heard sniper fire.

The Libyan rebels made a dramatic advance over the weekend out of their bases in the western mountains near the border with Tunisia into Zawiya, just 30 miles from the capital Tripoli. They took control of parts of the city but have been fighting fierce battles with Gadhafi's forces to hold their ground and take more territory.

The rebel advance is tightening the noose around Tripoli. The fighters are closing in on the capital from the west and the south, while NATO controls the seas off Tripoli, which sits on the Mediterranean coast. Hundreds of miles away from the capital, the opposition is in control of most of the eastern half of the country, and have a transitional leadership council in their de facto capital of Benghazi.

Osama Arousi, a rebel spokesman in Zawiya, told the AP the gas pipeline from Zawiya to Tripoli has been cut off by the rebels. The rebels claimed to have cut the pipelines earlier in the week as well.

He said Gadhafi's forces have shut the gate of the residential compound for refinery workers and their families. Many of the workers were evacuated early in the civil war that started in February.

An Associated Press reporter in Zawiya saw three pickup tricks loaded with fighters speeding toward the refinery.

The capture of the 120,000 barrel per day refinery in Zawiya is more a symbolic coup for the rebels than one that has a major impact on Gadhafi's ability to secure fuel, analysts said.

The flow of crude to the refinery from fields in the southwest of Libya had largely been halted since midsummer and the refinery was believed to be running at about one-third of its normal capacity, drawing mainly on crude oil that was in its storage tanks. But Zawiya mostly produced fuel oil, versus gasoline, which Gadhafi was trucking in mainly from Tunisia and, to a lesser extent, Algeria.

"In that sense, it's more significant that they (the rebels) have got control of the roads than the refinery," said John Hamilton, a Libya energy expert with Cross-Border Information and a contributing editor of Africa Energy. "Strategically, that's a more important gain for the rebels. Having control of the roads makes it much harder for Gadhafi to get the petrol he needs."

The refinery supplies oil and gas to the capital Tripoli, Gadhafi's stronghold and home to a third of Libya's six million people.

On a second front hundreds of miles to the east of Zawiya around the oil refining town of Brega, rebels clashed with Gadhafi troops for control of the refinery there.

A rebel doctor in Brega, Mohammed Idris, said the field hospital in Brega was overwhelmed by the number of casualties and many wounded were sent to Benghazi for treatment.

He said that as of Tuesday night, 18 rebels had been killed and 74 injured.

Rebel fighter Moussa Ahmaid, who was escorting the wounded rebels to the hospital, said the fighting is mainly no the southern side of Brega.

"We are using light hand held weapons and mortars," he told the AP. "Most of our casualties are from sniper fire or shrapnel from shelling."

Windows Phone Gaming Gets Some Stuff, Still Needs Some Stuff

Xbox Live is supposed to be a big hook for Windows Phone, but until now Microsoft hasn?t fully described what the platform?s upcoming ?Mango? update will do for gamers. We now have a better idea thanks to a blog post by Microsoft?s Michael Stroh.

Unlike Mango in general, Windows Phone?s fall Xbox Live update isn?t a major overhaul. Instead, Microsoft is filling in a couple of key omissions ? in-app purchases and parental controls ? and adding wearable avatar badges to reward in-game achievements. Xbox Live will also get ?Fast Async,? which is supposed to improve turn-by-turn multiplayer games.

That means live multiplayer is still absent, and the promise of cross-platform gaming between Windows Phones and the Xbox 360 continues to?move rather slowly. Only one new game, Kinectimals Mobile, will feature Xbox 360 connectivity, letting players transfer their virtual pets onto the phone?by scanning a QR code.?Microsoft also announced 14 new Xbox Live games, but there?s still no word of Halo, Forza Motorsport, Fable or any of Microsoft?s other big exclusive franchises coming to smartphones.

Mango will also bring some other tweaks that Microsoft announced earlier, such as interactive avatars within the Xbox Live app, improved messaging across all Xbox Live platforms, a more organized list of games and head-to-head achievement comparisons with friends. Also, once multitasking comes to Windows Phones, jumping in an out of a game without losing progress should be easier.

When I reviewed Xbox Live for Windows Phones last year, it had lots of potential but too many missing features to be a serious smartphone gaming platform. The Mango update will help, even if it leaves a few items on my wish list.

5 Myths About Massage ? Fitness Blog: Always Chick, Always Fit!

Although a professional massage has many excellent benefits, there are still many misconceptions surrounding the practice that may prevent people from actually getting one. Here are a few of the more prevalent myths surrounding massage, and why they?re certainly not true.

Myth #1: Massage is Just For Relaxation

Getting a massage is most certainly a favorite way to relax, but many people get therapeutic massage for much more important reasons. Massage therapy may address everything from managing back pain, to relieving the painful swelling of lymphedema. Many hospitals, physical therapy clinics, and chiropractors now realize that massage is a very effective tool for improving your body?s functionality and comfort, and have made therapeutic massage an integral part of their practices.

Myth #2: It?s Going to Hurt

While some deep tissue techniques can be intense ? what many clients describe as a ?hurts so good? sensation ? massage should not be painful. In fact some of the most advanced techniques are extremely gentle, yet capable of realigning and restoring a sense of health and openness in your joints and tissues. Expert therapists know how to listen to your body?s cues, moving into deeper work with sensitivity which will ensure your comfort. Communicating your preferences with regard to pressure and rhythm will help your therapist choreograph a perfect massage.

Myth #3: It?s Just A Luxury

Massage is proving itself to be a vital means of self-care, and an excellent means of preventing injury whether you are an athlete, or an over worked corporate refugee. In fact, sports teams, physical therapy centers and even corporate offices recognize the benefits of massage for preserving the health of their teams. Regular therapeutic massage can ameliorate pain from carpel tunnel and the shoulders-forward posture of most of us who are stuck behind a computer.

Meanwhile, avid golfers, runners and tennis players prevent common distress to their spines, IT bands, and elbows, by receiving massage. Far from a luxury, massage may save you from expensive medical issues in the long term. Its value in performance enhancement, improved circulation and detoxification make massage a worthy addition to your health maintenance program.

Myth #4: It?s Only For Women

Many people associate massage with a ladies? day at the spa, complete with scented candles, new age music, and exotic flowers and oils. A spa day is always a treat, but massage is so much more. With its tremendous health benefits, and potential for managing pain, improving range of motion, and clarifying your mind, massage is something which should be enjoyed by both men and women. Thankfully, in recent years, massage has firmly established itself as truly therapeutic. Nowadays, men and women seek out massage in equal numbers.

Myth #5: I?ll Feel Too Exposed

Whether your getting a massage for health concerns or relaxation, comfort is your therapists primary concern. Most therapists can drape and undrape so seamlessly that you will barely notice them doing it, and your modesty is always respected.

60 killed as wave of violence rolls across Iraq

At night, the tell area was very dark, as we avoided artificial light in order not to give passing insurgents easy targets. In that darkness, you could imagine the earliest inhabitants of what was now our base looking at the night sky and be reminded that we were not the first to move into Iraq from afar. It was also a promise across time that someday someone would undoubtedly sit atop our own ruins and wonder whatever happened to the Americans.

From that ancient debris field, recall the almost forgotten run-up to the American invasion, the now-ridiculous threats about Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction, Secretary of State Colin Powell lying away his own and America's prestige at the U.N., those "Mission-Accomplished" days when the Marines tore down Saddam's statue and conquered Baghdad, the darker times as civil society imploded and Iraq devolved into civil war, the endless rounds of purple fingers for stage-managed elections that meant little, the Surge and the ugly stalemate that followed, fading to gray as President George W. Bush negotiated a complete withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq by the end of 2011 and the seeming end of his dreams of a Pax Americana in the Greater Middle East.

Now, with less than seven months left until that withdrawal moment, Washington debates whether to honor the agreement, or -- if only we can get the Iraqi government to ask us to stay -- to leave a decent-sized contingent of soldiers occupying some of the massive bases the Pentagon built hoping for permanent occupancy.

To the extent that any attention is paid to Iraq here in Snooki's America, the debate over whether eight years of war entitles the U.S. military to some kind of Iraqi squatter's rights is the story that will undoubtedly get most of the press in the coming months.

How This Won't End

Even if the troops do finally leave, the question is: Will that actually bring the U.S. occupation of Iraq to a close? During the invasion of 2003, a younger David Petraeus famously asked a reporter: "Tell me how this ends."

Dave, it may not actually end. After all, as of October 1, 2011, full responsibility for the U.S. presence in Iraq will officially be transferred from the military to the Department of State. In other words, as Washington imagines it, the occupation won't really end at all, even if the landlords are switched.

And the State Department hasn't exactly been thinking small when it comes to its future "footprint" on Iraqi soil. The U.S. mission in Baghdad remains the world's largest embassy, built on a tract of land about the size of the Vatican and visible from space. It cost just $736 million to build -- or was it $1 billion, depending on how you count the post-construction upgrades and fixes?

In its post-"withdrawal" plans, the State Department expects to have 17,000 personnel in Iraq at some 15 sites. If those plans go as expected, 5,500 of them will be mercenaries, hired to shoot-to-kill Iraqis as needed, to maintain security. Of the remaining 11,500, most will be in support roles of one sort or another, with only a couple of hundred in traditional diplomatic jobs. This is not unusual in wartime situations. The military, for example, typically fields about seven support soldiers for every "shooter." In other words, the occupation run by a heavily militarized State Department will simply continue in a new, truncated form -- unless Congress refuses to pay for it.

It would better serve America's interests to have an embassy sized to the message we now need to send to the Middle East, and it shouldn't be one of boastful conquest.

A Place to Call Home

After initially setting up shop in a selection of Saddam Hussein's Disneyesque palaces (in one of the dumbest PR moves of all time), plans were made to build an embassy worthy of the over-the-top optimism and bravado that characterized the invasion itself. Though officially photos of the inside of the Embassy compound are not allowed for "security" reasons, a quick Google search under "U.S. Embassy Baghdad" turns up plenty, including some of the early architectural renderings of the future gargantuan compound. (Historical minifact: back in 2007, TomDispatch first broke the story that the architect's version of the embassy's secret interior was displayed all pink and naked online.)

The blind optimism of that moment was best embodied in the international school building stuck in one corner of the embassy compound. Though a fierce civil-war-cum-insurgency was then raging in Iraq, the idea was that, soon enough, diplomatic families would be assigned to Baghdad, just as they were to Paris or Seoul, and naturally the kids would need a school. It may seem silly now, but few doubted it then.

Apartments were built, each with a full set of the usual American appliances, including dishwashers, in expectation that those families would be shopping for food at a near-future Sadr City Safeway and that diplo-tots Timmy and Sally would need their dinners after a long day at school. Wide walkways, shaded by trees and dotted with stone benches -- ultimately never implemented -- were part of the overall design for success, and in memory now serve as comic rim-shots for our past hubris.

In la-la land they may have been, but even the embassy planners couldn't help but leave some room for the creeping realities of an Iraq in chaos. The compound would purify its own water, generate its own power, and process its own sewage, ensuring that it could outlast any siege and, at the same time, getting the U.S. off the hook for repairing such basic services in Baghdad proper.

High walls went up rimmed with razor wire, and an ever-more complex set of gates and security checkpoints kept creeping into the design. Eventually, the architects just gave up, built a cafeteria, filled the school building with work cubicles, and installed inches-thick bulletproof glass on every window. The embassy's housing for 4,000 is, at present, packed, while the electrical generators run at capacity 24/7. They need to be upgraded and new units added very soon simply to keep the lights on.

And now, the embassy staff in Baghdad is about to double. One plan to accommodate extra personnel involves hot-bunking -- sharing beds on day-and-night shifts as happens on submarines.

The embassy will also soon need a hospital on its grounds, if the U.S. Army truly departs and takes its facilities with it. Iraqi medical care is considered too substandard and Iraqi hospitals too dangerous for use by white folks.

You and Whose Army?

A fortress needs guards, and an occupier needs shock troops. The State Department's army will be divided into two parts: those who guard fixed facilities like the embassy and those who protect diplomats as they scurry about trying to corral the mad Iraqis running the country.

For static security, a company named SOC will guard the embassy facilities for up to $973 million over five years. That deflowered old warhorse Blackwater (now Xe), under yet another dummy corporate name, will also get a piece of action, and of the money pie.

SOC will undoubtedly follow the current security company's lead and employ almost exclusively Ugandans and Peruvians transported to Iraq for that purpose. For the same reasons Mexicans cut American lawns and Hondurans clean American hotel rooms, embassy guards come from poverty-stricken countries and get paid accordingly -- about $600 a month. Their U.S. supervisors, on the other hand, pull down $20,000 of your tax dollars monthly. Many of the Ugandan and Peruvian guards got their jobs through nasty intermediaries ("pimps," "slavers"), who take back most of their meager salaries to repay "recruitment costs," leaving many guards as little more than indentured servants.

Long-time merc group Triple Canopy will provide protection outside the embassy fortress, reputedly for $1.5 billion over a five-year span. The overall goal is for State to have its own private army in Iraq: those 5,500 hired guns, almost two full brigades worth of them. The Army guards Fort Knox with fewer soldiers; my Forward Operating Base made due with less then 400 troops and I slept comfortably.

The past mayhem caused by contracted security is well known, with massacres in public squares, drunken murders in the Green Zone, and the like. Think of the mercs as what the Army might be like without its NCOs and officers: a frat house with guns.

Most of them are Americans, though with a few exotic Brits and shady South Africans thrown in. They love 5.11 clothing and favor fingerless leather gloves. Think biker gang or Insane Clown Posse fan boys.

Popular is a clean-shaven head, no moustache but a spiky goatee teased straight out. You know the look from late-night convenience store beer runs. They walk around like Yosemite Sam, arms out as if their very biceps prevented them from standing straight. They're bullies of course, flirting inappropriately with women and posturing around men. Count on them to wear the most expensive Oakley sunglasses and the most unnecessary gear (gold man-bracelets, tactical hair gel). Think: Jersey Shore rejects.

Aggressive tattoos on all exposed skin seem a prerequisite for membership in Club Merc, especially wavy inked patterns around the biceps and on the neck. They all let on that they were once SEALS, Green Berets, SAS, or Legion of Doom members, but of course they "can't talk about it." They're not likely to disclose last names and tend to go by nicknames like Bulldog, Spider, Red Bull, Wolverine, or Smitty.

If arrogance was contagious they'd all be sneezing. All Aryan, all dudely, and now all that stands between those thousands of State Department personnel and Iraq. Oh yes: the seersuckered and bow-tied diplomats are supposed to supervise the mercs and keep them on the right diplomatic path, kind of like expecting the chess club to run herd on the football team.

Air America

With the U.S Army departing in whole or in part by year's end, most of the array of Army air assets State used will need to be replaced. A recently released State Department Office of the Inspector General's (OIG) "Report on Department of State Planning for the Transition to a Civilian-led Mission in Iraq Performance Evaluation" explains that our diplomats will, in the future, have their own little Air America in Iraq, a fleet of 46 aircraft, including:

* 20 medium lift S-61 helicopters (essentially Black Hawks, possibly armed)

* 18 light lift UH-1N helicopters (new models of ?Nam era Hueys, possibly armed)

* Three light observation MD-530 helicopters (Little Birds, armed, for quick response strike teams? er, um, observation duties)

* Five Dash 8 fixed-wing aircraft (50-passenger capacity to move personnel into the "theater" from Jordan)

The OIG report also notes that State will need to construct landing zones, maintenance hangars, operation buildings, and air traffic control towers, along with an independent aviation logistics system for maintenance and fueling. And yes, the diplomats are supposed to supervise this, too, the goal being to prevent an Iraqi from being gunned down from an attack helo with diplomatic license plates. What could go wrong?

How Much?

At this point, has cost started to cross your mind? Well, some 74 percent of embassy Baghdad's operating costs will be going to "security." State requested $2.7 billion from Congress for its Iraq operations in FY 2011, but got only $2.3 billion from a budget-minded Capitol Hill. Facing the possibility of being all alone in a dangerous universe in FY 2012, the Department has requested $6.3 billion for Iraq. Congress has yet to decide what to do. To put these figures in perspective, the State Department total operating budget for this year is only about $14 billion (the cost of running the place, absent the foreign aid money), so $6.3 billion for one more year in Iraq is a genuine chunk of change.

How Does It End?

Which only leaves the question of why.

Pick your forum -- TomDispatch readers at a kegger, Fox news pundits following the Palin bus, high school students preparing to take SATs, unemployed factory workers in a food-stamp line -- and ask if any group of Americans (not living in official Washington) would conclude that Iraq was our most important foreign policy priority, and so deserving of our largest embassy with the largest staff and largest budget on the planet.

Does Iraq threaten U.S. security? Does it control a resource we demand? (Yes, it's got lots of oil underground, but produces remarkably little of the stuff.) Is Iraq enmeshed in some international coalition we need to butter up? Any evil dictators or WMDs around? Does Iraq hold trillions in U.S. debt? Anything? Anyone? Bueller?

Eight disastrous years after we invaded, it is sad but altogether true that Iraq does not matter much in the end. It is a terrible thing that we poured 4,459 American lives and trillions of dollars into the war, and without irony oversaw the deaths of at least a hundred thousand, and probably hundreds of thousands, of Iraqis in the name of freedom. Yet we are left with only one argument for transferring our occupation duties from the Department of Defense to the Department of State: something vague about our "investment in blood and treasure."

Think of this as the Vegas model of foreign policy: keep the suckers at the table throwing good money after bad. Leaving aside the idea that "blood and treasure" sounds like a line from "Pirates of the Caribbean," one must ask: What accomplishment are we protecting?

The war's initial aim was to stop those weapons of mass destruction from being used against us. There were none, so check that off the list. Then it was to get rid of Saddam. He was hanged in 2006, so cross off that one. A little late in the game we became preoccupied with ensuring an Iraq that was "free." And we've had a bunch of elections and there is a government of sorts in place to prove it, so that one's gotta go, too.

What follows won't be "investment," just more waste. The occupation of Iraq, centered around that engorged embassy, is now the equivalent of a self-licking ice cream cone, useful only to itself.

Changing the occupying force from an exhausted U.S. Army that labored away for years at a low-grade version of diplomacy (drinking endless cups of Iraqi tea) to a newly militarized Department of State will not free us from the cul-de-sac we find ourselves in. While nothing will erase the stain of the invasion, were we to really leave when we promised to leave, the U.S. might have a passing shot at launching a new narrative in a Middle East already on edge over the Arab Spring.

Embassies are, at the end of the day, symbols. Sustaining our massive one in Iraq, with its ever-lengthening logistics and security train, simply emphasizes our failure there and our stubborn inability to admit that we were wrong. When a country becomes too dangerous for diplomacy, like Libya, we temporarily close our embassy. When a country becomes dangerous, but U.S. interests are still at stake, as in Yemen, we withdraw all but essential personnel. Similarly, in Baghdad, what's needed is a modest-sized embassy staffed not by thousands but by scores -- that is, only the limited number of people necessary to make the point that it is no longer an extension of a failed occupation.

Nothing can change the past in the Middle East, but withdrawing the troops on schedule and downsizing our embassy radically to emphasize that we are no longer in the business of claiming more space for the American empire might very well help change the future.
