POMPANO BEACH, FL?? On Saturday June 25th, paddleboarders, surfersand fisherman alike can simply cast a line to support community children withspecial needs during the 2nd Annual ?Cast for Kids? Stand-upPaddleboard Fishing Tournament.

?As a local nonprofit organization, we are very grateful tohave the support of our community. During these difficult economic times we arefortunate that we can count on civic-minded individuals to help fund criticalservices and programming for some of the most at-risk children in the nation,?said CEO Marjorie Evans.

The tournament will see participants turn paddleboards and surfboards into eco-friendly fishing platforms to compete in capturing the largestfish, most fish, and overall total weight. Spectators and participants will enjoya post-event party, food and refreshments for purchase, music, awards ceremony,and the chance to win fantastic raffle prizes. The tournament will begin andend at the PompanoBeach Fishing Pier located on OceanBlvd in PompanoBeach.?

Pre-registration is $50.00 and $60.00 the day of the event,while admission is free of charge to spectators. The tournament beginsat 6:00am with a Bimini start, weigh-in at 12:00pm, and an awards ceremony andafter party beginning 1:00pm.

Last year?s winners reeled in a 10.9 pound King Mackerel inthe individual category and a 15.5 pound Bonita in the team category. Winnersreceived plaques, fishing rods, apparel, and of course bragging rights forwinning a first-of-a-kind event on the East Coast.
