Brain tumors in children?

Very rare and very good. Don?t have a thing other than personal observation (lots) to back me up though.

Okay, after the thumbs down, I did a bit of research and found that approximately 1500 brain tumors of all types, malignant and benign are diagnosed every year in the U.S. Considering that millions of babies are born every year in this country, I think 1500 qualifies as rare. The diagnoses and treatment options are rather detailed and can best be found by doing what I just did ? Google it! The question helped this old cancer patient learn a little more about cancer today!

very rare but children diagnosed with brain tumors are more likely to survive then adults ? this was told to me by my oncologist as I am a childhood brain tumor survivor

How common are brain tumors in children? How is it diagnosed? What is the survival rate?
