Minimum Requirements: B.S. in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineer, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related degree. Minimum ten (10) years experience in greenhouse gas and energy management including inventories, reduction planning, and implementation. Also, minimum five (5) years experience in sales and business development in the greenhouse gas management market. Familiarity with CA AB32, CA SB 375, the California Climate Action Registry, the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, National trends in adaptation planning, and emerging National legislation a must. We expect the ability to communicate information effectively, both orally and in writing, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to prioritize and complete a variety of simultaneous tasks with a hard-charging team. Ability to interface with existing URS clients to sell new services, as well as seek out and capture new clients and sales essential. Strong leadership skills, outgoing nature, and ability to connect within a large network preferred. The candidate has to be able to professionally represent the
Company and to actively educate prospective clients about greenhouse gas issues, regulations, and reduction solutions. We also require the highest level of commitment and motivation to represent a growing practice.
Job Description:
URS is seeking a Greenhouse Gas Practice Leader to lead our growing Northern CA practice. You will provide the leadership and strategic direction for the promotion of our local greenhouse gas management practice, as well as leadership at a regional, level within the company. This is a combined leadership, business development and technical position, requiring that you have strong technical skills and well developed client interaction and business development experience. Depending on individual performance, this position offers substantial development potential for a high energy, enthusiastic self-starter. The ideal candidate will lead proposal efforts, develop new client relationships and coordinate regional interaction to bring in greenhouse gas management work to our team of experts. Candidate will participate in management of greenhouse gas projects, while focusing on developing new business to solidify our place in this emerging market. Candidate will interface with URS senior managers as well as national/global URS expertise, clients, and offices. Responsibilities include: ? Lead, manage performance, hire and retain staff for overall success in the practice ? Interface directly with clients and address client problems/questions/comments in a clear, professional manner, ? Analyze market parameters and company service offering, ? Lead proposal writing efforts and be able to successfully sell URS GHG Management services, ? Coordinate marketing measures, ? Generate sales leads, ? Lead business development efforts and make recommendations for growth opportunities, ? Make business decisions relating to the practice, ?
